Benchmarks: National Standards: Grade Kindergarten 

*Progressing toward a mature form of locomotor skills
*Demonstrates a mature form of walking and running
*Moves in response to a signal
*Tosses a ball and catches under various environmental conditions
*Kicks a stationary ball with a smooth continuous running step
*Maintains balance on various body parts
*Identifies fundamental movement patterns (skipping, jumping, etc.)
*Establishes a movement vocabulary (personal space, tempo, etc.)
*Applies concepts to performance (changing direction when running, etc.)
*Engages in moderate to vigorous physical activity
*Selects to participate in activities requiring some physical exertion during non-P.E. time
*Can identify likes and dislikes of physical activity
*Can sustain moderate to vigorous physical activity for short periods of time
*Applies rules and procedures for safety
*Shares space and equipment with others
*Recognizes the joy of shared play
*Interacts positively with students in class regardless of personal differences
*Engages in Physical activities*Associates positive feelings with participation in physical activities
